Although there's almost always been a bar on this site since Colonial times, there's nothing historic about O'Brien's these days. Well, there's the Wall of Fame, which features photos of Naval Academy grads; but to be honest, this place is more reminiscent of the bar at the local Bennigan's than anything else. It's done in the "green, brass and glass" motif, and there's a decent-size stage where local bands (mostly of the cover variety) set up and play Saturday through Wednesday. The space turns into a dance floor when DJs spin Thursday through Saturday. O'Brien's has daily happy hour specials, with $2 domestic pints, $3 imports and a small $3 appetizer menu of the nachos, wings and chicken tenders variety, and the bar's usually packed with a younger, noisier set than nearby drinking establishments.
