Nestled in Great Falls, Va., is one of the area's best traditional Irish pubs, and one of the best beer selections, as well.

OK, I am biased because I have lived in Great Falls for 21 years, but I can't imagine it without The Brogue. In years of coming to it almost weekly, I have never had a bad meal - in fact the cuisine has improved over the years with the addition of fabulous weekly specials. The service is top-notch and the most friendly around. The most telling indication of it's quality is that hundreds of Great Falls residents frequent The Brogue very regularly, some virtually daily, for drinks, dinner or both.
While catering mainly to locals, the Brogue offers inexpensive Sunday brunch options, and a short but diverse menu from salads to traditional Irish fare. Family oriented during the day on weekends, more adults after 7pm and young 20's-40's after 9 on Weekends. The live music makes for a nice backround. The bar is clubby! A good casual and inexpensive place to stop on your way through Great Falls.
The real deal, a neighborhood Irish Pub in Great Falls. Unpretentious, comfortable, authentic food and ambiance. Crazy busy on St Patrick's Day. Beating the odds, "The Brogue" has been in business for decades. Experienced staff, now serving exceptional coffee & High Tea next door at Katie's.
Snuggery is no longer...gave way to a "Tea" room?
So I'm definitely biased towards this pub as I lived in Great Falls for close to 20 years. Nevertheless this IS the best and most AUTHENTIC Irish pub in the DC area. Having been to Ireland two times in the past year I say this with confidence. The owners are Irish, the food is legitimate Irish, and the atmosphere is as close to a real Irish pub as you can get outside of South Boston, NYC, or Chicago. It's not a glitzy glamorous pub, it's a cheers where the people and the atmosphere make it a great bar. The food is fantastic as is the service.
I've been going to this place for nearly 25 years of the same owners. It is a reliable, nice place with nice patrons and a great staff. the food isn't bad and the entertainment is terrific. Let's not mention the St. Paddy's Day that you can't remember.
