This Arlington crabhouse is a hidden gem with a happening patio.

I've lived in Arlington for a few years and I've never heard of Quarterdeck. We were in the mood for casual seafood, I typed that in Google and Quarterdeck was the first place that popped up. The food and atmosphere was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the overall service is first-rate. If you're in the mood for real seafood without the frills this is the place to go. Overall, I'd highly recommend the QD and I can't wait to go back.
I've been to the Quarterdeck five times this year. Each time, the crabs have been outstanding and they are always fresh and hot - never mushy like some other places where they are prepared in advance. The service has always been great. Overall, the best place around for crabs!!!
I had no idea that the QD was there for YEARS. I'm so glad someone led the way for me a couple of years ago...it's such a treat to have a good crab shack right here in Arlington. The crabs are never a disappointment, and the staff is appropriately attentive. Pitchers of beer are well priced. It can be tough to get a table in the shade, but there's only so much complaining I can do about that. The only thing that's lacking on the menu is hush puppies. How do they not have hush puppies? Anyhow, get over to QD rather than trekking it all the way out to Captain Pells.
There's no other place like QD if you want a good crab shack dinner without driving to the bay. You definitely go here to chill outside, have a good time and go through a couple dozen crab - which have been consistently good on each of the four times I've been there. If you're expecting fine dining or to find something other than a good ol' crab shack, look elsewhere.
They have a policy that you cannot sit at the same table with your family or friends eating crabs, so I had to sit at another table when we were out celebrating both my kids birthdays. We had a party of 20, so we spent a lot of money there. I've never been to a restaurant that has such a policy and my daughter worked in a crab house before without such a policy. We had to move tables when they found we weren't eating crabs. Unacceptable, and ruined my whole night. Got overpriced crabcakes, only it came in a casserole dish. Was horrible!! Others got crabcakes and were just as disgusted with the food. You have to pay for bread and melted butter!! I will NEVER go there again!! One of the worse experiences in my life in a restaurant!!
