Editorial Review

A staple of Dupont Circle's bar circuit for years, the Front Page continues to lure downtown office types to its daily happy hour. The bar's heavy wood and brick decor suggests a comfortable clubhouse atmosphere perfect for spinning great tales with friends while sipping on a brew.

Accessible through the lobby of the Robert S. Strauss Building, as well as via its New Hampshire Avenue restaurant entrance, the Front Page bar serves the same extensive menu available in the restaurant area.

The atomosphere is generally fun at both the Ballston and Dupont Front Pages, but it is NOT worth going. At the ballston location I was charged twice. I figure, my bad I should have paid more attention and I'm sure it was an honest mistake. It wasn't. Last night in Dupont (i was 100% sober!) I signed my check- (with a generous tip!) and this morning looked at my charges online and they had added given themselves an extra $15 dollars on a $9 dollar tab!!!! The bartenders are absolutely out to steal from you. There are better, more honest bars to go to in Dupont.

A friend took me to brunch this past Sunday to celebrate a new job. The food was fantastic, we waited all of 10 minutes for a table and the ambiance was nice. The service was decent, but it was a buffet so it was hard to mess that up!

They (especially Jimmy) have a habit of adding several dollars to credit card charges after you already signed. So pay in cash or keep your receipt.

I don't mind going to Frontpage to grab a drink on the weekend. It's post college sloppy fun, but we made the mistake to eat there. The burger was bad, but the coleslaw that came with it was one of the worst things I've eaten in quite some time. Avoid.
