February's best concerts

The Washington Post Staff  |  Updated 02/27/2012

After the relatively slow months of December and January, the concert schedule in February is particularly packed. The key date is Feb. 23. That's when Rick Ross, the current king of the rap game, performs at Constitution Hall and soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Guns N' Roses perform a rare club show at Fillmore Silver Spring. There's also an international flair to this month's shows: Persian legend Hossein Alizadeh performs for free at the Freer and Artisphere welcomes Ethiopian-born singer Meklit Hadero and Mexican bluegrass sensation Rana Santacruz. Plus, there's the Wammies, Blake Shelton and Sharon Van Etten in our list of the best shows this month.
