Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper) is determined to rebuild his life and marriage after he finds himself living with his parents (Jacki Weaver, Robert De Niro) after a brief stint at a state institution. Things become complicated when he meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own. The duo forge an unexpected bond as life starts to look up for both of them.
