Whether you're interning on the Hill or just watching your wallet, it can be expensive to go out on the town. But a lack of funds doesn't have to mean a lack of fun -- there are plenty of ways to enjoy happy hours and nightlife without a lot of cash. Here are a few of our favorites.
Happy Hour at DC9
Washington, DC | Daily
Get $2.50 bottles of Bud and Bud Light, $3 rail drinks and a $3 selected beer of the week at the bar or on the rooftop deck every single night.
Happy Hour at Hamilton's
Washington, DC | Monday-Friday
Different drink specials are offered every night of the week. The most popular? $1 PBR cans all day on Fridays.
Happy Hour at the Mighty Pint
Washington, DC | Monday-Friday
Get $3 pints of draft beer or $5 16-ounce cocktails from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every weekday, and additional drink specials every night. Lucky people get to drink for free on Thursdays.
Beat the Clock Happy Hour
Washington, DC | Monday-Friday
The earlier you get to Nellie's, the cheaper the drinks will be: Beers and rail drinks start at $2 every weekday.
Happy Hour at Tonic at Quigley's Pharmacy
Washington, DC | Monday-Friday
The list of daily deals includes half-price draft beers, $5 glasses of wine, $4 tater tot platters, 64-cent wings (minimum of 6) and $6.95 nacho platters.
Happy Hour at Town Tavern
Washington, DC | Monday-Friday
Interns and young professionals drop in to the Adams Morgan bar for decent after-work deals and solid nightly specials, including $3 mixed drinks between 3 and 7, half-price beer and liquor on Wednesdays, and a $10 open bar during Thursday's "Intern Night."
Happy Hour at Union Pub
Washington, DC | Monday-Friday
With its covered patio and drink specials that rotate daily, Union Pub is one of the most popular happy hour destinations on the Hill. Among the highlights: $8 for five beers on Wednesdays, $3 drafts and rail drinks on Fridays and $12 pitchers on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.
