Friday screening themes include Washington-based blockbusters (through June 29), road trip flicks (July 6-27), presidential salutes (Aug. 3-31) and space travel (Sept. 7-28). Sundays mean family-friendly animated films (June 3-24), fish tales (July 1-29) and dog pictures (Aug. 5-Sept. 2). At National Harbor. Fridays just after sunset through Sept. 28 and Sundays just after sunset through Sept. 2.
In honor of the election year, the popular annual film festival just across the river from Georgetown dedicates itself to Hollywood's political oeuvre, from gripping dramas such as "All the President's Men" to the light and fluffy "Election" and "Dick."
A D.C.-themed movie series under the stars. Films include "D.C. Cab," "Protocol" and "The American President." Gates open at 7 p.m. for music by local DJs; films begin at sundown.
Rockville's summer outdoor film series screens such family-friendly flicks as "The Muppets," "Footloose," "Moneyball" and more.
The annual Comcast festival, which benefits NIH Children's Charities, returns to Rockville with three nights of films and performances by local bands.
