We sometimes forget that artists are just people with dirty fingernails. Zac Willis and Annette Isham want to remind us of that.
In 2013, the duo began producing a cheeky monthly podcast offering profiles of local artists. The artists had submitted answers to the kind of questions that sometimes accompany centerfold spreads, e.g. “What’s your spirit animal?” and “Who’s your favorite celebrity?”
On Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the exhibition “Centerfold Artist” opens at Project 4. Along with the original podcasts and artist datasheets, it will include a “calendar” display of representative artworks by last year’s participants, including Brian Barr, Bradley Chriss, Larry Cook, Victoria Fu, Hedieh Javanshir Ilchi, Ben Kinsley, Bridget Sue Lambert, Matthew Mann, Nikki Painter, Igor Pasternak, Lauren Rice and Bonner Sale.
