Three artists examine the Occupy movement in "Facing Democracy," an exhibition of photographs and video that opened at the Goethe-Institut's FotoGalerie earlier this month.
On Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the gallery will host a reception for the artists, who include former Washington Post photographer Lucian Perkins, Iowa City-based photojournalist Danny Wilcox Frazier and Baltimore’s Jenny Graf Sheppard, an interdisciplinary artist who contributes two videos, “Site Specific” and “Everywhere.”
Immediately after the reception, the Goethe-Institut will screen “Why Democracy?,” a collection of short films on the theme of political power. Additional films related to the exhibition will be screened through Feb. 21.
