Although Artisphere’s ambitious sound--art exhibition “Fermata” continues through Aug. 10, the show includes so many works that they had to be divided, like a symphony, into separate movements. This weekend marks the conclusion of the first movement, which closes Sunday.
On Wednesday, an entirely new sound program will take over, ushering in the show’s second movement. Played on a massive wall of speakers, the fresh sonic lineup will include works by two local celebs ---- media artist/programmer Alberto Gaitán and punk mainstay Ian MacKaye (collaborating with record producer Don Zientara) ---- as well as work by such international superstars as Ryuichi Sakamoto.
