On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., Pleasant Plains Workshop and ArtSpace D.C. will host staggered opening receptions for “In Our ’Hood,” a joint exhibition in which artists Alberto Gaitan, Decoy, Billy Friebele and others explore themes of urban gentrification and community.
The two-site art show also will include panel discussions June 9 and 21, along with a closing-day potluck featuring poetry, music and discussion. Visitors are encouraged to walk between the two venues, or hop on the 70 bus, a Capital Bikeshare bike or a D.C. Pedicab. ArtSpace D.C. will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.; Pleasant Plains Workshop from 7 to 9 p.m.
