Visitors to this summer's (e)merge art fair at the Capitol Skyline Hotel may recall seeing a young, nearly stock-still man slowly plastering his half-naked body with hundreds of "I voted" stickers over the course of several hours.
Now he has a gallery show.
On Saturday evening, Conner Contemporary will open two shows, including "Domestic Exchange," the inaugural solo exhibition of Wilmer Wilson IV. On opening night, the artist will create a living sculpture with his own body and inflated brown paper bags. The "durational performance" will get underway at 5 p.m. followed by an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m.
That same evening, Conner will also showcase new video by artist Janet Biggs. Both are on view through May 5 at 1358 Florida Avenue NE. 202-588-8750. www.connercontemporary.com.
