Take a pit stop from the rat race on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. for Honfleur Gallery's opening reception for "Le Temps Devant (Our Time Ahead): Anachronism and Utopia in the French Countryside."
Co-sponsored by the Alliance Francaise of Washington, the exhibition of photographs by Baltimore and Paris-based photographer Frederic Nauczyciel looks at people living in overlooked or marginalized communities where the pace and/or focus of life is out of sync with the surrounding world. Nauczyciel's subjects include a breeder of milk-fed veal, a garlic farmer, a Franciscan priest and a retired nun.
