If you remember Gabriel Orozco's 2004 show at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, you'll have some idea of what Washington artist Jimmy Miracle does. Like Orozco, the recent transplant from New York creates sculptural installations using found objects, which he then documents in photographs.
On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., Pleasant Plains Workshop will host an opening reception for "Ordinary Glory," an exhibition featuring both Miracle's sculpture and a selection of photographs documenting a 2010 series of site-specific found-object sculptures that Miracle created along the Rockaways waterfront in Queens.
Through April 7 at 2608 Georgia Ave. NW. www.pleasant plainsworkshop.com
. 202-415-1466. On April 5 at 7 p.m., the gallery will host an artist talk. Both events are free.
