Perhaps the most curious exhibition in town opens Saturday with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. On view at the digital print shop Furthermore, “Personal Effects” is a showcase of unrelated objects, some of which are art works, and some of which are not. But all of them were chosen by their owners ---- a motley assortment of artists, collectors, writers, art dealers, curators and other creative types ---- for their personal significance. The contributors were selected by Jose Ruiz, the artist who runs Furthermore, and others, and include collector Philip Barlow, writer Gareth Branwyn, art dealer Brigitte Reyes and painter W.C. Richardson.

What to expect? The unexpected. Artist Linda Hesh, for one, has contributed a flail. The medieval--style weapon, which she inherited from her father, is a spiked metal ball at the end of a chain and swung from a wooden handle.
