Art that has been plopped in office--building lobbies is nothing new. But downtown’s Carroll Square actually has its own small gallery, offering a rotating selection of top--notch exhibitions, curated by Hemphill Fine Arts.
On Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., the gallery will host an opening reception for “Raising Dust,” a group show of envelope--pushing ceramic artists.
Don’t expect the usual boring bowls and vases. The show features five innovators ---- Margaret Boozer, Akemi Maegawa, Melissa Mytty, Matt Price and Matt Ziemke ---- whose work pushes clay in unusual directions.
