Artist Jefferson Pinder’s undergraduate theater studies have served him well in his performance--based video art, which combines physical intensity with intense screen presence in the service of a politically ---- and often racially ---- charged message. On Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., G Fine Art will host a reception for the opening of Pinder’s “Revival,” a five--channel video installation that incorporates multiple performances of popular songs by such collaborators as D.C. performance artists Chukwumaa and Wilmer Wilson IV.
