Self--esteem doesn’t seem to be in short supply in Washington. But anyone in need of an emotional shot in the arm should head to the Capitol Skyline Hotel on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
That’s when the Washington Project for the Arts, which has its headquarters at the artsy hotel, will host an opening reception for “The Confidence Booster,” the inaugural show in WPA’s “Hothouse” exhibition series, which will take place in the hotel lounge. The installation by Angelo Tirambulo will feature wallpaper and mirrors printed with flattering quotations, in an attempt to both acknowledge and satirize the city’s self--regard industry.
