Newspaper headline writing is an art, especially when done by artists. The cheeky headlines gracing the cover of the inaugural issue of the Crier ---- an artist--produced rag that will be unveiled Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. during the opening of an art exhibition accompanying its release at Pleasant Plains Workshop ---- include such corkers as “Tourists Disappointed; Washington Mall Is Not a Mall.” There’s even a self--deprecating tweak of recent developments at The Post: “No Thanks: Bezos Nixes Crier Deal ---- Cites Poor Circulation, Distribution.”

It has been said that museums are where art goes to die. Maybe galleries are the natural final resting place for journalism.
