Photographs of Palestinian farms and farmers
Vivien's work displayed at the Jerusalem Fund Gallery is something of a novelty. It really is the first time that anyone has captured so beautifully the faces and work of the modern-day Palestinian farmer in the context of what is called agro-resistance. Vivien's photographs reveal the intimate relationship she has with her subjects, the trust between them, and their deep connection and commitment to the land. Anyone who has not been to Palestine will walk away with a very real sense of what Palestine is and why it's so important to protect it.
As someone coming from Palestine, I have no doubt that Vivien, through her photographs, has managed to bring to all those who do not know Palestine a live, accurate and clear image and representation of the beauty of especially rural Palestine... If only her photos could speak. Great job Vivien... I am really proud of you and your fabulous work...
