Yoga: The Art of Transformation” includes several pages of poses from “Ocean of Life,” an Indian work that is the first known collection of illustrated yoga asanas. But don’t just expect pictures of pretzeled yoginis in this conceptually and visually fascinating exhibition at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. The show, which closes this weekend, paints a strange and sometimes contradictory portrait of yoga’s evolution from ascetic spiritual practice to multi--billion--dollar industry.

Closing--weekend events include free yoga demonstrations in the gallery, exhibition tours, gallery talks with curator Debra Diamond and family activities.
