Where to Watch Free Films Indoors

Summer is full of free outdoor movie festivals, but Washington is lucky to have museums and cultural institutions that screen free films indoors all year round.

The Library of Congress hosts the most eclectic film programs in town. You might find "Kitten With a Whip" as part of a series dedicated to the films of Ann-Margret, recent popular films from Iran, multiple weeks featuring "Roller Disco Cinema" or a Shakespeare-on-screen festival that contrasts "Star Trek" episodes with classic versions of "Henry V." A local treasure.
