Adjacent to the Crystal City underground and Metro station, and less than a mile from National Airport, the Sheraton Crystal City can easily tout location as a prime attraction. Like many of its Crystal City neighbors, however, the building's exterior retains a drab 1970s appearance. The hotel compensates by offering all the modern amenities a business traveler might need. The basic room decor is soothing, with coordinated colors and bedspreads. The overhauled in-room entertainment system provides a good selection of cable, movies and video games. All rooms have coffee makers and minibars; and most come with a couch as well as a bed, which helps make you feel just a bit more at home. Best of all, the hotel's setting ensures good light in the rooms, so you don't feel so trapped in the morning. -- Bill Frischling
