Alexandria Irish Festival

Please note: This event has already occurred.
St. Patrick's Day hasn't come early, but this is probably the next best thing. Each summer, the Ballyshaners, an Alexandria-based non-profit whose name means "Old Towners" in Gaelic, throw an almost-halfway-to-St. Patrick's Day street festival that brings together Irish dance troupes and troubadours, servings of corned beef and cabbage and plenty of Guinness and Smithwick's. You'll want to don some green to fit in; the festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
