Like the waning days of summer, “Richard Diebenkorn: The Ocean Park Series” will be around only for a couple of more weeks. The show, which runs through Sept. 23 at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, is a great example of what the embattled museum does best: showcase great, luminous paintings.
If you haven’t seen the show, which draws from the artist’s famous abstractions created in his Southern California beachfront studio, now’s the time. On Thursday at 7 p.m., the museum will present an illustrated lecture by the artist’s daughter, Gretchen Diebenkorn Grant, followed by an opportunity to view the more than 80 works on display.
