Potomac River Heritage Kayak Trip

A kayaking trip for adults. Best for age 18 and older.

Time For Tots: Possum and the Harvest Moon

Guests can hear a seasonal story then go outside for an exploration with a park naturalist. Best for ages 2 to 5.

Bats and Beavers Pontoon Boat Cruise

Guests can search for beaver lodges, feeding sites and beavers during a sunset cruise. Later, using a bat detector, guests will also search for feeding bats. Best for age 6 and older.

Family Fishing Fun

Guests can learn to set up a bobber rig, add bait to hooks and tips on casting. Best for age 3 and older.

Hike to the Ancient Trees

Guests travel to Wye Island's School House Woods during this hike. Best for age 18 and older.

Stream Adventures

Using nets young visitors and adults can explore and learn about what animals live in streams. Best for ages 2 to 12.

More visitors center than nature center, this beautiful building does have some exhibits, books for kids to read and a nature video they can watch. A garden out front is planted to attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
