Fossil Field Experience

The day begins with combing the beach near Cove Point Lighthouse for fossils. After lunch, families can discuss their finds and tour the paleontology hall. Admission includes museum tour. Best for age 8 and older.

Live animals, fossils and displays teach about maritime life in the Chesapeake Bay.

Thrills and Spills: The Golden Era of Powerboat Racing in Southern Maryland

An exhibit tracing the highs and lows of the power boat racing in the region. Artifacts on display include trophies, engines, helmets and embroidered shirts and jackets worn by racers.

Grand Opening of River to Bay: Reflections and Connections

An aquarium exhibit that highlights three bay habitats -- the deep, open waters, the brackish coastal shallows, and freshwaters of the coastal plains -- through 16 aquariums.
