On Tuesday, Capital Bikeshare — the purveyor of those omnipresent red rental bicycles you’ve no doubt seen around the District and Arlington — ushered in its first birthday with another big milestone: its one-millionth ride. Help celebrate both accomplishments Thursday at Yards Park at the Capital Bikeshare Birthday Bash. The evening of entertainment promises live music from ’80s cover band the Reflex, moonbounce jousting, a hula-hooping area, $5 pints of New Belgium beer and an assembly of food trucks, including the popular Red Hook Lobster Pound and Eat Wonky. You can also show off your cycling skills with a paper route competition, which rewards throwing accuracy, and a slow bicycle “race,” which bestows accolades upon those who cross the finish line at the most snail-like pace (without putting down a foot). There are also prizes for speed: The first 1,000 attendees to arrive at the party get a free T-shirt.
