I have been going to this since (I think) 2002. Then it was a ticket system, but it cost less, the cups were much bigger and plastic, and you could re-up. Then they went to unlimited with the plastic cups. Then unlimited with 6 oz glass, and now sadly last year to tickets, 6 oz glass, and no re-buys. I have always cleared my calendar for this event, but this year I will not go and none of my friends are either. It isn't about getting drunk though, its about value and being treated like an adult. Both of which have gone away. Thanks VABC!
My take on the whole thing is why don't you just go to Cap City and drink what you want for $2 pints and gain access to the festivities for free since you won't be purchasing beer? And if you really want to just sample some beers either pay the $25 or split the cost and share the 10 small cups with a friend. You can always just drink more at the restaurant bar.
