A trip to the U.S. Botanic Garden is all about appreciating plants, but today, it's also about savoring them. At 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., the garden hosts cooking demonstrations using ingredients straight from a summer garden or farmers market. There will also be a solar cooking demonstration, showing how aluminum foil and sunlight can create enough heat to cook food. Children can pot a plant to take home or participate in the garden's group mural project. The artists will use plants as paint brushes.
