Elephant Walk

When the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus circus comes to town, the elephants are offloaded from the train early to walk the rest of the way in. The walk is scheduled to start at 1 p.m., but that's subject to change depending on train issues. Five elephants will parade across the city with horses and clowns. One of the best places to catch them is at the Mall on Third Street when they pause for photos with the Capitol in the background. Currently, their stop at the Capitol is anticipated to be at about 1:50 p.m.

Parade route: Garfield Park at Virginia Avenue SE to Washington Avenue SW, north on Third Street and west on G Street NW to the Verizon Center.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will be at the Verizon Center March 18-21, and then at the Patriot Center March 25-April 4.
