The Smithsonian American Art Museum has long had a soft spot for the work of the pioneering video artist Nam June Paik, whose “Megatron/Matrix” has its own room at the museum. Built around the late artist’s archives, which SAAM acquired in 2009, the current exhibition, “Nam June Paik: Global Visionary,” helps put that wall of flashing monitors (and other works) in perspective.
Stop by Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m., and listen to associate curator Michael Mansfield, who will lead a tour of the show and offer insights into the restlessly inventive Paik’s creative process.
