The historic Spanish Ballroom plays host to swing, folk and ballroom dancers every weekend, when live music and dance lessons are offered.
The Spanish Ballroom is a treasured landmark recalling the golden days of the Swing Era. The room has an excellent sprung wood floor, however, be prepared because there is no heat or a/c in the building. Oddly enough, it ads to the idiosyncratic charm of the venue. www.gottaswing.com and the Tom Cunningham Orchestra put on 2-3 swing dances each month and have historically the best turn out 400+ dancers. There is a beginner class from 8-9 and the band plays until midnight. All ages, no partner required and nor do you need any prior training. National acts like Roomful of Blues, Mitch Woods, The Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Jive Aces are all produced by www.gottaswing.com.
