You've heard of (and are probably sick of hearing about) flash mobs, yeah? Well this is a fluff mob: On International Pillow Fight Day, would-be combatants around the world meet in public places to pummel one another with pillows. In Washington, the National Mall (near the Smithsonian Castle) will be the scene of the action at 1:30 p.m. sharp. Bring your concealed, non-feather pillows and wait for your cue to start swinging. After a 15-minute free-for-all, the action shifts to Dupont Circle for more pillow-based games, including capture the pillow case and one-on-one duels, at 3 p.m.
