Dozens of local artists will head to Anacostia from noon to midnight to highlight the viability of an east of the river arts district, transforming vacant Ward 8 warehouses into eclectic galleries. Consider the Lightbox, the Pink Line Project's pop-up in the former Metropolitan Police Department evidence warehouse, with a walk-through installation from Bluebrain, food from Busboys & Poets and cash bars. Also not to be missed: the Party Behind the Big Chair, which features six hours of local poetry a short walk from Anacostia's most visible landmark from 4:15 to 10 p.m.
