An alternative July 4 party for those who wish they were at the beach, the Party on the Potomac moves inland from Cantina Marina to the Bullpen this year. Entertainment at the open-bar bash comes from Dewey favorites Jimi Smooth and HitTime, Slim Pickins and '80s cover band Judo Chop. Red, white and blue polo shirts and sundresses aren't required, but seem to be the dress code of choice for the preppy crowd.

Admission is $75 for women and $85 for men. No tickets will be sold at the door, so visit www.capitolentertainmentgroup.com before Independence Day.
