National Cherry Blossom Festival organizers planned this walk for the public to reflect on our relationship with Japan, shortly before the festival begins on March 26. All donations will go to the American Red Cross and its Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami fund. The festival celebrates the famous cherry trees at the Tidal Basin, a gift to the United States from Japan in 1912.
