Editorial Review

Herman Wouk, the author of "War and Remembrance," "The Caine Mutiny," and other sweeping historical epics, receives the Library of Congress Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Writing of Fiction on Wednesday, Sept. 9. To honor his work, special guests, including Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, New York Times columnist William Safire and ABC News reporter Martha Raddatz will read selections from Wouk's novels. Jimmy Buffet will perform songs from "Dona??t Stop the Carnival," the musical he created based on Wouk's book of the same name.

The event is free and open to the public. No reservations or tickets are required.
