Black Ankle Vineyards

Editorial Review

The attention here is on excellent wine, but it's worth a visit just to check out the "green" tasting room; under the bar's glossy veneer is a texture created from dried grape vines, the walls are insulated with bales of hay and the tables have been crafted from tree trunks. There are picnic tables, and guests are welcome to bring picnics; local cheeses, spreads and olives are available for purchase. Live music starts at 6 p.m. on Friday nights. -- Lavanya Ramanathan (June 2010)
