Our Review

There are actually three rail services at these two adjacent stations in Alexandria. The Metro station, on the Blue and Yellow lines, is on the east side of King Street. This is the station most people use for Old Town Alexandria. Around the corner is the Amtrak station, where travelers can catch regular trains to New York, Boston, Richmond and Miami, and occasional trains to Chicago. Check Amtrak's Web site for fare and schedule information. The Amtrak station also hosts the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) commuter lines, which run Monday through Friday to Manassas and Fredericksburg.

Last train departs: Huntington- 12:35 a.m.
Mt. Vernon Sq-UDC - 11:37 p.m.
Addison Road- 11:40 p.m. Franconia-Springfield- 12:33 p.m.
(Last trains leave exactly 2 hours later on Friday and Saturday nights.)
