Our Review

This multiplex has 18 theaters, all with stadium seating and digital sound. Eight of the houses seat between 249 and 290 patrons.

With the Washingtonian Center's beautiful surroundings and supporting restaurants, a family can do plenty before or after a movie here. You can take a paddle-boat ride or a leisurely stroll around Rio Lake, which is adjacent to the theater.

Several restaurants and small novelty shops are also near the theaters. The huge complex has plenty of free garage parking and is completely wheelchair-accessible.

imax is jive

the theatre is in a nice location but i saw prometheus in their "imax" theatre and was pretty annoyed that the screen is probably about a third as big as the one they have at the air and space museum. Another thing that sucks is that unlike a regular 3d movie they do not give you a new set of glasses. They give you a "special" set of imax 3d glasses and like the ones they gave me at columbia seem to invariably be covered in popcorn grease and monkey semen because they reuse the glasses although they make you pay 20 dollars for a ticket. So it is a good theatre but dont go to the fake imax.
