The Regal Countryside opened six new theaters on Aug. 27, 2000, all with stadium seating and digital sound.
You feel like you've just entered a space port when you walk into the huge lobby of the Countryside. And the futuristic theme fits. This theater, which opened in 1996, set the mold for the next generation of multiplex: stadium seating, love seats, digital sound, advance ticketing and cappuccino at the concession stand. The 14 older theaters, which range from 80 to 446 seats, have stadium seating in about half of the house. The tiered area features high-back chairs while the other seats rock. Each theater also has a number of love seats, so couples can cozy up without an armrest in between. Besides basic theater concessions, a cafe offers cookies, muffins, gourmet coffees, espresso and cappuccino. No service charge is tacked on for advance tickets ordered by credit card. Ample free parking is available around the theater.
