Editorial Review

The Archives uses the theater for talks, performances and family programs, as well as special screenings and documentary film series. The 290-seat theater, which opened in 2004, is designed to echo the 1930s architecture of the National Archives building. The theater allows studio recording and live programming and can support Dolby Surround and DTS sound. Its 10- by 24-foot screen adjusts to screen films in various formats.
