Simple Diary

I thought this film was highly overrated. It is simply a diary of a 27 year old woman, who is in love with her bff. The film is in b&w, and not crisp or sharp. The woman overplays her confusion over life, men, relationships, career, and there is nothing more to the movie. After a short while, her curious facial expressions get old. I suppose women will enjoy and relate to this film. As for me (male) I felt like $12 would have been better spent on some Stella Artois.

HIGH HA FOR FRANCIS

I went away from the film feeling fresh and seeing everything through Frances' eyes and heart, absolutely knowing and experiencing a cathartic remembering of where I want to be going and who I am. Boldness, passion, in the moment and impromptu, the film took my breath away. Greta Gerwig is a natural and gifted original.
