Editorial Review

Errol Flynn plays James J. "Gentleman Jim" Corbett, the Irish-American boxer who became the first heavyweight champion of the world under the Marquis of Queensberry rules in 1892. Among other things, Queensberry rules require fighters to wear gloves instead of going at each other bare-fisted. Corbett won the title by defeating renowned fighter John L. Sullivan (Ward Bond). Alan Hale plays Pat Corbett, Gentleman Jim's father.
