groundhog day is deeply droll and even more deeply spiritual. phil, a shallow opportunistic-in-love-and-work weather reporter, gets stuck in a timeless loop of his own making. so he decides to make the day (feb 2) -- and himself -- better. i could watch this movie a dozen times in a row. it's uplifting and hopeful w/ zero schlock and lots of food for thought.
