jab tak hai jaan is a good movie. I think Yash Chpora might have been inspired fro the south legend surya's movie Vaaranam aayiram. The story line is almost similar to that movie. Some changes have been made like the father role of surya, death of the fist lover etc..SK is also having the same past and future as we seen in vaaranam ayiram. Both are being army officers and turning to be a new person with entirely new life
I was lucky to catch a advance preview screening of Jab Tak Hai Jaan.I have watched many 'Indian' movies for the last 35 years or so and this must rate as one of the best Indian movies ever. I've listened to the songs before i've even heard of which movie it originated from and absolutely had goose-bumps watching the movie and hearing the songs which I had already considered my all-time favorites! I have never come across any other movie which had so many romantic melodies in one. The climax to the movie was totally unexpected which is different from so many of the mainstream 'Indian' movies where the ending is totally predictable.Shahrukh Khan has once again proved why he is called the King of Bollywood!
Jab Tak Hain Jaan is not a copy of Vaaranam Aayiram. The above user has no idea of the film and just posted a lame comment. It is so derogatory from an Indian talking nonsense about late Yash Chopra, one of the pioneers of Indian film making.
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is a copy of a Tamil film, "Vaaranam Aayiram" released a few years ago. The character played by SRK loses his first love (K Kaif) in a tragic accident - a terrorist attack and is mourning her seriously when he meets the A Sharma character. He finally learns to put the past behind him and once again finds love and happiness in the character played by A Sharma. What are the odds that Yash Chopra will acknowledge that this film is a copy of another Indian film ? What about patent rights and royalties ?
