Killing Them Softly

Average Reader Rating

Boring and hemorrhoidal

Everyone looks old and grey and greasy in this re-tread of a movie. Ray Liotta is so fat now that he would be ashamed of himself if he were a walrus. The only good parts in the movie are in the review with the exception of the feces smeared car scene and a super slow motion shooting/car crash. Brad pitt looks like he has been drinking nonstop since he made snatch.

Killing Them Softly...

This movie is straight GOBBAGE!!!! Just awful.

"It's irrelevant . ."

A splash of No.5 and the body blows are like the rose.

Pitt is not a bad actor, but ...

I have just returned home from the movie and I am trying to recoup after seeing one of the worst movie in years. In fact, I decided to boycot his future movies until he learns to select the script and the director. A total waste of talent (his) and money (mine).

killing them softly

It was a good flick for a Saturday afternoon. You were not paying attention to where the cameras were, but rather engrossed in what was to come next. Pitt's character was right on as the detached hit man who really had no feelings toward those he took out just as I the viewer had no sympathy or emotion to them either.

Hornaday Sparkles

I too must stop to comment and echo sentiments of others who applaud Hornaday's mastery of film critique. Yes, there are others who excel, but none rise to the level of Hornaday's insightful analysis, not to mention her adroit use of metaphor. I am continually amazed not only of the depth of her fresh observations, but the consistency in which she so fairly and considerately dissects the fruit of film-makers labors. Kudos to you Ann - you're a class all your own.

Ms Hornaday's Commentary

Echoing the prior reviewer, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I will. Ms Hornaday's piece is masterful, insightful, entertaining and informative - she is, without doubt, one of the best film reviewers I've read. I read others, of course, but I always read Ms Hornaday's.

Ann Hornaday's Reviews

This is not a review of the film -- which I haven't seen, but the preview looks great -- but of Ann Hornaday's review. Forgive me for only noticing now, but Ann is an awesome writer. Wow . . . how did you learn to write like that? And just to avoid confusion in this ironic age, I'm not being ironic. Ann is simply a very good, evocative writer. Wow.
