Being a huge fan of Billy Crystal I was very excited to see he has a new movie out. While it was wonderful to see him again this wasn’t a movie I’d add to my DVD collection for repeated watching. On the plus side the storyline is relevant to today’s hurried and harried world and everyone can relate to that. Growing up old school and learning new school parenting methods in college made it interesting to see that tug-of-war magnified onscreen. Though the overall movie was lackluster it did include a couple of laughs and one or two heartstring pulls. The storyline dragged as did the acting which is sad considering the amazingly talented people in this film. To see them at their finest stay home and re-watch their old movies on DVD.
Took my son and his 5 friends (8-9 yr. olds) to this movie for his birthday, as it was the only one playing right after school. Hadn't heard anything about it, but we watched the trailer and thought it would be funny. It was more than we expected! Funny, sweet and heartwarming. The kids talked about it all night and want their parents to take them back to see it again. Not often you find a movie that both parents and kids really enjoy...this was truly a treat!! Grandparents will enjoy it too. Awesome movie, and an awesome 9th birthday!!!!!!!
